AFN Lauches New Streaming Service

Free streaming app marks the 80th anniversary of the network.

The American Forces Network (AFN), the television and radio broadcasting service provided to U.S. military stationed overseas, announced the launch of a new streaming service in celebration of the network’s 80th anniversary. It will be provided through the AFN Now app, which was originally launched a few months ago and is free to download for all military personnel.

Defense Media Activity Director Hal Pittman spoke about this new service, “The successful launch of the AFN Now app in the Pacific in September was AFN’s biggest technological transformation in the past three decades.” Director Pittman added, “Reaching our military audiences on the devices they use every day is key to Defense Media Activity’s approach to better serving our military members.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Director Pittman as he oversees the rollout of the streaming service.
  • For Defense Secretary Austin to seek God’s discernment as he heads the U.S. Armed Forces.
  • For the morale of U.S. military personnel stationed around the world.
